The acquirer plays an important part in processing payments, one of our key services.
You will be charged a flat, monthly fee for the hardware and services we provide; this covers equipment maintenance and any technical support you may require. Your invoices in this regard will be issued by Masters Rates Ltd, Tectah, or one of our leasing partners.
There is also a variable charge based on the transactions processed each month. This charge will depend on the nature and volume of transactions and the payment methods used. You will receive an invoice relating to these charges from the acquirer at each month end.
As different forms of payment involve different charges, the Tectah team will help you find the solution that best suits your business needs.
Your invoices may include charges from the acquiring bank (acquirer), which processes and settles your card payments. These fees are part of standard card processing and are passed through as part of your merchant services agreement.
The Merchant Service Charge usually includes:
This is the total cost of accepting card payments.
Settlement times depend on your acquiring bank and payment type, but typically funds are transferred within 1–3 business days after transaction processing.
No. Tectah follows a transparent pricing model. All applicable fees are disclosed in your agreement and reflected in your monthly statement.
You can contact Tectah support via your merchant portal or official support channels for any invoice-related queries, disputes, or clarification on charges.
Tectah provides the payment solution and merchant platform, while the acquirer is the financial institution that processes and settles card transactions. Both may appear on your billing statement.

We perform several checks on each applicant. These include the following:
Credit Check
We use credit reference agencies to ascertain your credit score and verify your identity, confirming details such as your home address.
MATCH Database
MasterCard International maintains this resource, used to identify merchants and individuals previously terminated for financial misdoings, including card fraud, laundering, unauthorised deposits and more.
TMF Database
TMF merchant accounts are those marked as high-risk by an acquiring bank. The TMF database acts as a banking industry blacklist, and those identified remain on the list for at least five years and are unlikely to find success when applying for new accounts with other banks.
VMAS
The Visa Merchant Alert Service employs a Europe-wide database to protect acquiring banks against poor quality customers, especially those who would otherwise jump from one bank to the next.
The above checks inform our decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of applications and the extension or discontinuation of existing accounts.
By submitting your application, you confirm that you consent to our performing these checks on a periodic basis.
It is important that you describe the products/services you sell precisely. Failure to do so is likely to result in a failed application. If your description is too broad, so that it may be interpreted as including products/services that we do not accept, then your application is unlikely to pass the first stage. If your description is too narrow, so that it leaves out products/services that you do in fact sell, your application is likely to be rejected on that basis.
If the mischaracterisation of your business is determined to be deliberate, you will be charged £150 plus VAT to compensate us for our inconvenience. Please note that to knowingly supply false details during such an application is against UK law and that we do pass businesses’ details on to the authorities where appropriate.
It is important that any change of business model be promptly communicated to Tectah. Failure to do so may result in your account being closed with no refund.
Your website is connected to Tectah through a secure payment gateway or API integration. This allows your customers to make payments directly on your checkout page, while Tectah securely processes and routes the transaction to your acquiring bank.
During onboarding, standard checks are carried out to ensure compliance and security. These may include:
Once your integration is complete and your account is approved, you can start accepting payments immediately. In some cases, transactions may initially be monitored for security purposes.
Depending on your setup, you can accept:
Yes. All transactions are processed through secure, PCI-compliant systems with encryption to protect customer payment data.
Check the following:
First, ensure your swiping method is correct – not too quickly and with the magnetic strip facing away from you. If you continue to have swiping issues, clean your swipe card readera using a gentle cloth and/or try unplugging and then re-attaching your card reader into your till system.
First, check that the power rack shows a green light – this light indicates that power is reaching the till system. If the light is not green, check that the machine is properly plugged into the mains and switched on at the socket.
Only Tectah payments can be integrated with Tectah EPOS.
Check the power connection, plug socket, and cables first. Try switching to a different power outlet. If the system still does not turn on, inspect the power adapter or restart after a few minutes. If the issue continues, contact technical support for hardware assistance.
This depends on compatibility with your EPOS setup and payment provider. In many cases, existing card machines may need to be reconfigured or replaced to ensure full integration with the new system.
Restart the system and check your internet connection. Close unused applications if applicable. If performance issues continue, ensure your software is updated and contact support for further troubleshooting.
Prices and items can usually be updated through the EPOS back-office or admin dashboard. Once changes are saved, they may automatically sync to the till system. Alternatively, you can contact our support team for assistance with updating your menu or price list.
Yes, sales reports are typically available through the system dashboard. You can view daily, weekly, or custom-date reports depending on your setup.
Check paper roll placement, ensure the printer is switched on, and verify cable connections. Restart the printer or system if needed. If printing still fails, check for error lights or contact support.
Staff access can usually be managed through the admin settings. You can create new users, assign roles, and remove access when required.
If your system is fully down, contact your support provider immediately with details such as error messages, system status, and what was happening before the issue occurred.
